Finally received my Samsung Chromebook, and though you might think me biased, I have to say I really like it.  I am finding myself leaving it near the TV, and constantly reaching for it to use as my #secondscreen  .  For all things web it is such a great device: Gmail, Google+, search, banking, reading the news, Facebook, IMDB, etc.  I am pleased it also runs HBO GO, and I have to admit I am surprised to find it can't stream +Netflix .  Surely someone is working on that?

  1. I know Google and Netflix are working on it – it's basically a DRM issue because of the ARM architecture.  It's funny – I originally bought mine for me and the wife wrote it off as me just getting a toy. Since then, I've basically lost it to her and my daughter and it's moved from my computer desk to the kitchen.

Overall though – it really is a great bit of hardware and I absolutely love it.

  2. It does Hangouts. ;) Netflix says they are working on a solution.  Somehow I don't think Microsoft is in a hurry to build Skype for Chrome, but I'll ask Tony Bates the next time I see him.

  3. But i want all my devices to do everything:) Seriously, ubiquity is a good thing and very much expected for any good device these days. The chromebook is very cool, but extremely limited for most people until it does at least Skype.

  4. I stream Netflix so man ways (watching the new Netflix version of the House of Cards, transmogrified from London to Washington) that it doesn't really matter to me.  I never really got into Skype.
